Rooftop Solar Capacity

To be installed across Delhi through this policy

3,750 MW

Utility-Scale Solar Power

To be procured from outside Delhi

Policy Highlights

Innovative features of Delhi's solar policy

Hybrid RESCO Model

Rooftop leased to developer; power sold to DISCOM; consumer signs net metering agreement. This innovative model makes solar accessible without upfront investment.

Community Solar

Consumers without rooftops can own a share of a third-party solar plant within the same DISCOM area. Perfect for apartment dwellers and renters.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Trading

Buy/sell solar power in real time via a digital platform. This creates a dynamic energy marketplace for prosumers.

Delhi Solar Cell

Dedicated unit to monitor and support implementation. A single-window system for all solar-related approvals and support.

Apex Committee

Led by the Minister of Power, GNCTD, to track progress. Ensures accountability and timely implementation of the policy.
